Starting January 16, Netflix is adding a new Korean fantasy rom-com to its lineup: No Tail to Tell, the international release of the SBS series 오늘부터 인간입니다만 (also known as No Tail to Tell). Blending romance, supernatural folklore and character drama, the show puts a modern twist on the legendary Korean gumiho — the nine-tailed fox — by asking a simple question: what happens when an immortal being suddenly has to live as an ordinary human?

What is No Tail to Tell about?

At the heart of No Tail to Tell is Eun-ho, a gumiho who has been enjoying the human world for centuries. She indulges in its pleasures while carefully avoiding good deeds, because doing the right thing would threaten the immortality she is determined to protect. Her existence is built on a calculated balance between good and bad, with no interest in any kind of moral journey.

Everything unravels after an accident involving Kang Si-yeol, a world-famous soccer player. That incident abruptly strips Eun-ho of her supernatural nature and turns her into a regular human being. No more powers, no more eternal life — only emotions she can’t control, everyday limitations, and real-world responsibilities that she has always managed to sidestep. The series follows how she copes with, resists, and gradually confronts this new human condition.

The main cast and key characters

Actress Kim Hye-yoon plays Eun-ho and her human identity, Kim Ok-soon, giving life to both the mythological fox and the woman forced to live without immortality. Opposite her, Lomon portrays Kang Si-yeol, an elite forward whose lifestyle revolves around training, competition and strict personal discipline.

Around this duo, the show introduces a set of supporting characters that highlight both the fantasy elements and the social realities surrounding them:

  • Lee Si-woo as Geum-ho, a character tied to Eun-ho’s supernatural past,
  • Jang Dong-joo as a former soccer prodigy whose career has been cut short,
  • Kim Tae-woo as a shaman who hides his true nature behind a troublemaker façade.

Through these intersecting storylines, No Tail to Tell explores recurring themes such as loss, change and rebuilding one’s life after everything has collapsed.

Fantasy, romance and modern Korean drama style

Produced by Studio S and directed by Kim Jung-kwon, the series is co-written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young. It fits into a wider trend in Korean TV where traditional mythological figures are revisited through contemporary stories, often set in urban spaces and professional environments.

No Tail to Tell was initially planned for a 2025 release but was later moved to early 2026 in SBS’s schedule, before being confirmed for a worldwide release on Netflix. The show’s first season consists of 12 episodes. In South Korea, episodes air weekly on SBS, while Netflix offers them as part of its global streaming catalog.

Instead of focusing on the pursuit of eternal life, this drama flips the usual fantasy romance premise: here, the story centers on what it means to lose immortality and to be forced into an existence with an end point. That twist positions No Tail to Tell as a fresh addition to Netflix’s growing slate of Korean fantasy romances.

Release date and episode schedule on Netflix

No Tail to Tell will not drop all at once on Netflix. The platform is following the standard release pattern used for many Korean dramas that air in parallel with a local TV channel.

Release details for No Tail to Tell on Netflix

  • Launch date on Netflix: January 16, 2026
  • Release format: weekly
  • Pace: 2 episodes per week
  • Days of release: Friday and Saturday
  • Original broadcast in South Korea: SBS TV, on the same days and dates

Netflix is therefore not dropping the full season in one go. Instead, episodes will be added week by week, mirroring the SBS broadcast and keeping viewers in sync with the South Korean airing schedule.
